IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO LIST OR DISCUSS ALL THE SYMPTOMS OR EYE PROBLEMS THAT CAN INDICATE A CONDITION WITH POSSIBLE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES THAT MAY LEAD TO LOSS OF VISION AND/OR LIFE.  WE DISCUSS BRIEFLY HERE SOME OF THE MORE COMMON SYMPTOMS AND A FEW OF THE POSSIBLE CAUSES:

1)    RED EYE WITH OUR WITHOUT PAIN/DISCHARGE.

Causes of red eye include (but are not limited to) dry eye, infection, inflammation, tumor, cornea ulcer, and abrasion. If you wear contact lenses and develop a red eye immediately discontinue wear of the lenses and see an eye specialist. Bring the lenses and the case you keep the lenses in to the eye specialist appointment (The case and/or lenses may be cultured to determine the organism if there is an  infection and what antibiotics it is sensitive to).

2)    EYE PAIN WITH OR WITHOUT ASSOCIATED OTHER SYMPTOMS.

All the causes of eye pain are too numerous to list but again include dry eye, infection, inflammation, foreign body and others. Again if you wear contact lenses you should immediately discontinue wearing them and seek professional evaluation.

3)    VISION LOSS WITH OR WITHOUT ASSOCIATED OTHER SYMPTOMS.

All the causes of vision loss are too numerous to list but include retina tear or hole with or without associated retina detachment, optic nerve problems, stroke or other central nervous system problems, vascular occlusion of arteries or veins in the eye, cataract, glaucoma, degeneration in the area of the retina that sees sharply (Age Related Macula Degeneration) and numerous others.
