WHY CHOOSE POLYCARBONATE FOR YOUR LENSES?
Polycarbonate have been available for some time, however the quality was poor in the early days. Recent technology has greatly improved the material so that polycarbonate now provides superb optics.
With so many options for lenses why choose polycarbonate? Glass used to be the only option for lenses and plastic came along and gave us safer, lighter, more comfortable lenses but the lenses scratched easily and the lenses had a wide edge or thickness. The new polycarbonates are much thinner and lighter than plastic. Comfort and good looks are important to all of us and the thin, light weight quality of polycarbonate lenses are especially appreciated when high minus or plus power is needed by some of us.

Polycarbonate material is so soft that scratch protection is important., so scratch protection hard coats are available which are actually incorporated into the surface of the lens. This hard coating makes the polycarbonate an excellent lens for everyday wear. Extras like anti-reflective coating, photochromic tints that turn sunglass dark in the sun, progressive add lenses, and the many styles of bifocal and trifocal lenses make polycarbonate a premium lens at a fraction of the cost of other lenses.
